Life in the Fog

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive;
and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

Khaite On Sale

My latest obsession is Khaite, and although her pieces are out of my price range, they are a dream to behold.  Her collection reminds me of a little bit of Rodarte, Celine (when Phoebe Philo was at the helm) Comme des Garcons, and Issey Miyake.

Here are the pieces that are on sale that are nothing short of dreamy and which I just utterly adore:

This black Joey top, I would wear this with jeans, a Chanel 2.55 handbag (not the classic), and  Manolo Blahnik's pearl Hangisi satin flats

The rich color of this Paula dress caught my eye.

The Dani trench coat would be great for SF foggy weather

Sweet Victorian, high-neck detail in the Calista gown

Love the structure of the puffed sleeves on this Kai Top

Pastels for Spring

  Drawings by Riley Sheehey

I was hesitant to do a post on inspiring drawings, styles, and decor for the upcoming Easter holiday in light of current events, but then thought it would be a welcome change of pace from reading all the increasingly depressing online articles, the news on television, the lack of food supplies at markets, and being stuck indoors on a rainy (though much needed) day.  I hope these inspiring pastels elevate, enhance, uplift your mood and get you excited for Spring, even if it's only temporarily.

Hope that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.

The gorgeous drawings are by the talented Riley Sheehey.  Her account is another gem that I recently discovered on Instagram - @cestriley.  Looking at her feed brings a big smile on my face and can lighten whatever mood I happen to be in.  I'm always looking forward to seeing what she'll post next.

Customized Edie Parker clutches

I'd style the Johanna Ortiz top with this lovely Jaline lavender silk-blend skirt and paired with French Sole creme ballet flats

If I could, I would have a closet full of Zimmermann dresses...

Embellishments - Bows, sequins, and jewels

Sometimes during my work breaks, I'll find myself falling into the Insta-black hole.  I get bored very easily when I see similar products and captions circulating / recycling / spinning in circles in all the feeds, so it's a pleasant surprise to discover brands that are different or unique.  In that vein, I'm just loving Le Lion's personalized sweaters (above is their Striped Petite Crew with Rainbow Heart).  Unfortunately, they are out my price range at a little under $600 each; but nevertheless I enjoy seeing their feed on Instagram.

The sweaters would look great accessorized with these beauties below:

Dolce and Gabbana bow-embelllished brass stud earrings.
I found somewhat similar earrings on Moda Operandi as well, and for a much lower price at $75 by Fallon.

Another new designer whose styles caught my eye is Indonesian designer Sapto Djojokartiko - his shoes are so feminine and dainty that I could cry.

Magani flat mules in green velvet by Sapto Djojokartiko
More Le Lion sweaters in pastel, Easter-friendly colors.
Gorgeous embellished sling back flats, also by Sapto Djojokartiko.
