Currently, I'm obsessing over designer J.J. Martin's Milan-based, vintage-inspired, maximalist brand La Double J. And if you follow her on Instagram, she is as open, real, and sunny as a designer can get - and it's reflected in her lifestyle brand. I've been so inspired by her that I find myself slowly branching out from solid "safe" colors to stripes to fun, colorful prints that I normally wouldn't gravitate to such as houndstooth or a graphic tetris-like sweater and a black and white block print that I've purchased from Ann Taylor a year ago.
These are the styles that I'm in love with and would brighten anyone's day and not just their closet! And to be honest, this is a small handful that covers the items that I covet. And if you live in San Francisco, I hear that Hero Shop, a really amazing boutique unlike any other I've encountered in the City, now offers La Double J.!
I've been eyeing this Short Visconti Dress in Crepe de Chine for a very long time!
Dying over this style combo - Gemini Shirt in Carnevale
Would look great with a pair of jeans for the weekend - Lou Lou Shirt, Daisy in Cotton Poplin
One of many that I just love - Visconti Top - Pinwheel in Charmeuse
And for those of you who aren't ready to venture into prints, J.J. Martin sure can make killer black gown dresses such as the Long Bonbon Dress Nero in Cotton Poplin
If these are simply out of your price range, here are a few lower priced alternatives I scoured and under $40!
Floral vintage midi dress
Don't know about you, but I'm so ready for Spring - this dress is perfect for Easter
This vintage-inspired maxi dress is spot on
Prints that I've recently worn during this past work week - see the obsession is real! Sadly, most of the items are no longer available. This coat by Ted Baker was a major steal and was deeply discounted - was under $200! Sweaters below are by Ann Taylor and Banana Republic, and leopard shoes are by Kensie and are still available.
Don't mind the smears on the mirror, as I've got two littles under the age of 5!
First leopard print anything that I've owned! Sorry, it's a bit blurry as I was more focused on my upper half. I looked around and they're available here and come in other styles as well.
The silver sterling necklaces, though you can barely see them are by Tiffany's. We were gifted a silver spoon and rattle when my second was born and though they were beautiful, I had them exchanged for jewelry which would be put to better use and with my children's and husband's names engraved for a more personal, sentimental touch.
